Silverstone track day meet

Still no news on when I am going to order my Zero Kit, just trying to organise funds and working out finances etc. But I do have some good news, my wife has agreed to go to the Silverstone track day meet in a couple of weeks.
This will be great for us both, so she can see what I'm getting so excited about, maybe meet a few Zero WAGs? I will try to get her a ride in 1 of the cars to see what she thinks, although she might be too scared.

Some more good news is that she is definitely coming round to the idea of it, and is trying to find me a cheap car that I can strip down and learn how it works before trying to build my own car. She's a goodun!!

See you at Silverstone!!

Factory Visit

Introductions over, lets get down to it.

Like i said i have been looking around and decided GBS Zero is the one for me. I emaile GBS to arrange a visit and basically find out a bit more, as i am a bit nervous about spending all that money on a car i know nothing about. After a couple of messages back and forth, i arranged a meeting today with Wayne.

That meeting was this morning and i havent stopped smiling since!

I arrived on a cold damp morning, after a night of heavy rain, pulled into the car park and was met but a few Zeros looking back at me. WOW! I want one!

Next i go inside, have a look around in the reception area, where there are a few seats, a couple of engines and some of the body panels. By this point my excitement was growing!

I met Wayne and we have a little chat and reconfirmed that its a Ford based Zero that i want. A few different engine options but at this point still undecided exactly which one to go for.

We went off for a tour through the factory, seeing the KitSpares department, some built chassis, the room where they make and test various components. Its crazy, so much more than i had imagined! They have a proper set up going on here!

We carried on to the workshop, seeing a few cars that are being worked on and having a brief talk with some of the technicians. And thats when Wayne says hes going to get the keys for the Zero outside, time for a spin!!

Key in, turn, engine roars into life! In i climb, seated low in the car, pretty much on the road! Harness goes on and we are ready to go.

Now im not going to say much about the drive, but remember, cold wet greasy road, super lightweight car, 185bhp going to the rear wheels, and then at the wheel is an incredibly skilled driver, Wayne, who knows these cars inside and out!

Let me just say you need to go for a drive, because if your not sure before the drive, you will definitely want to place an order when yo get back! None stop smiles, what a thrill!

Needless to say when we got back, after another little chat, i assured Wayne that in the new year, when i have my new house with the garage space, there will be an order placed under the name EDDIE!

And i cant wait!

More about my specs and ideas for my unique build to come!

And so it begins!!

Hi Guys and Girls,

Welcome to my little blog!

So lets start off with a mini intro : I'm Eddie, currently 25yrs old, recently married and working as a car salesman.

Ive had this idea of buying a TVR Chimera for a long time. I would work on it, fix it, drive it and love it! Just one problem, i dont know a thing about mechanics so working on a big expensive V8 will be an issue.

So why not teach myself how a car really works? Learn about it, know everything about it. *BINGGGG* lightbulb moment - i need to build myself a car from the ground up!

After a bit of reading and researching i have found the GBS Zero! PERFECT!

So this is where i get my show on the road!
